Ordinary butyl rubber (isobutene-isoprene rubber, IIR) has a small unsaturated portion of the molecular chain, wide distribution of methyl in the side chain, good air tightness, low energy absorption capacity, chemical stability, and thermal stability.
It is used in inner tubes of tires, vulcanized bladders, waterproof materials, and shock absorption materials.
Excellent air tightness and water tightness for use in inner tubes and waterproof materials; basically saturated molecular chains and great stability for wide use in building sealing; better processability after branching meeting the requirements of such high-end applications as vulcanized bladders.
